Melatonin is a natural hormone made from an amino acid known as tryptophan. It helps to calm our bodies and prepare us for sleep. Perception of daylight plays a role in melatonin production and this is why we should be producing more at night time. Excessive travel and poor bedtime habits could cut down on production and this is where Douglas Labs' Melatonin Prolonged Release Tablets may be able to help. The melatonin in Douglas Labs' Melatonin Prolonged Release Tablets may also perform as an antioxidant. Since it is water and fat soluble, it can cross the blood-brain barrier during absorption and potentially help reduce free radical damage.

Medicinal Ingredients: Each tablet contains:

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Cellulose, silica and vegetable stearate.

Adults take 1 tablet 1 hour before bedtime as directed by your healthcare practitioner only.

Warnings: Not to be taken by individuals under the age of 18. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking any prescription medication (especially hormone replacement therapy), or have an autoimmune or depressive disorder consult a physician before using this product. Long-term use of melatonin has not been studied. Use of this product could cause hypothermia. Do not use before or while operating a motor vehicle or heavy machinery.
