Douglas Labs' Ultrazyme provides a formulation of three pancreatic digestive enzymes. These are known as lipase, protease, and amylase. Lipase is an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of fats. Protease does the same and breaks amino acids down during digestion. Finally, amylase is present in saliva and participates in the earliest stage of digestion in the mouth while chewing. This combination of enzymes may help facilitate the digestive process our body carries out every day. This is important because digestion is a vital part of energy production and absorption.
