Quercetin Bromelain Complex

Quercetin-Bromelain Complex, provided by Douglas Laboratories, is a unique formulation of quercetin, buffered vitamin C, and bromelain. Quercetin is a bioflavonoid that has excellent antioxidant activity. Magnesium ascorbate is a buffered form of vitamin C, a key antioxidant, which synergistically supports the quercetin activity. Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme purified from pineapple, which is active and stable at the acidic levels found in the stomach.
The antioxidant activity of quercetin protects the gastrointestinal tract, prevents the depletion of glutathione from the cells of the intestinal tract, and increases mucus secretion from gastric cells. Quercetin provides an antispasmodic activity that prevents the uncontrolled peristaltic activity found in diarrhea, and with the assistance of vitamin C in the gastrointestinal tract, also helps protect against gastric lesions.

Medicinal Ingredients: Each tablet contains:

Non-medicinal ingredients: Cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, silica and ethylcellulose.

Adults: Take one tablet 3 times daily between meals, or as directed by your health care practitioner. Consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 4 weeks.

Caution: Consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you are taking blood pressure medication. Hypersensitivity/allergy has been known to occur, in which case, discontinue use. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea have been known to occur, in which case discontinue use. If you have a gastrointestinal lesion/ulcer, are taking an anticoagulant/blood thinner, anti-inflammatory or antibiotic, or are having surgery, consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use. For optimal storage conditions, store in a cool, dry place.
