Buffered Vitamin C

Buffered Vitamin C is a factor in the normal development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums. Calcium Ascorbate is another name for vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which has been buffered by a specific quantity of the mineral calcium. Combining ascorbic acid with calcium produces a supplement that is less acidic and therefore easier on the digestive tract. This allows for the use of higher doses without side effects such as diarrhea, rashes and stomach aches that may occur in sensitive individuals taking pure vitamin C.
