HMF Powder is a moderate-level maintenance probiotic formula which provides two strains of proprietary human-sourced Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, along with fructooligosaccharides. HMF Powder is indicated for the promotion and maintenance of intestinal health in adults and children alike. The HMF products are powerful probiotics for relief of intestinal health problems. These Human Micro Flora (HMF) are human-derived strains, and are the original product line of their kind in North America. Most all other probiotics are made from plant, soil, animal or dairy strains and do not adhere as well to the human gastrointestinal tract. HMF Powder is composed of 50% acidophilus (2 specialized strains) and 50% bifidobacterium (2 strains). Each type of organism works in a different part of the GI. Medicinal Ingredients: each scoop contains:

Probiotic consortium - 11 billion CFU

  • Lactobaccillus acidophilus (CUL-60)
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL-21)
  • Bifidobacterium bifidum (CUL-20)
  • Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. (CUL-34)

Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) - 880 mg

Wheat, starch, gluten, soy, artificial colouring and flavouring, antimicrobial preservatives, dairy and animal products. Ideal for vegans.

Adults and Children (1 year and older): In a glass, add water or milk to one scoop (1/4 teaspoon) of HMF Powder and mix. Take two times daily with meals, at least two to three hours before or after taking antibiotics, or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner.

Caution: if you have an immune-compromised condition, do not use. If you are experiencing nausea, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea or severe abdominal pain, consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use. If symptoms of digestive upset occur, worsen or persist beyond three days, discontinue use and consult your healthcare practitioner.

Good for cats with kidney crystals

Have been using this for my cat who was diagnosed with kidney crystals about 6 years ago. Combined with a uninary food formula there have been no flare ups since.
