R-lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant that protects brain and nerve cells from free radicals. It reduces the buildup of iron in the brain which is thought to contribute to Parkinson's disease. It also supports healthy blood sugar metabolism to prevent insulin resistance. S (-) lipoic acid does not have these benefits and in some cases even thwarts them.
Medicinal Ingredients -each capsule contains:
R(-) lipoic acid (sodium salt)* 150 mg Biotin 100 mcg
Non-medicinal ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, Sodium stearyl fumarate, Silicon dioxide, Dicalcium phosphate. Capsules: Hypromellose, Gellan gum.
Wheat, gluten, corn, nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, sulphites, mustard, soy, dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, or any animal byproducts.
Adults: Take 1 capsule three times daily with/without food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner.
Caution: Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have diabetes.
